Obituary

William "Bill" Letter, 80, of Black Creek passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born on April 12, 1942 a son of the late Cyril and Bernice (Eisenreich) Letter.

On September 5, 1964 he was united in marriage to Elaine Skaletski at Holy Trinity Parish in Pine Grove. Bill was a faithful member at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino where he served on numerous boards and was proud of being a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.

Bill and Elaine farmed and raised their family on the original Letter family farm.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; 11 children: Annette (Tom) Krahn, Philip (Lori) Letter, Anthony (Cheryl) Letter, Anita (Troy) Wegner, Gregory (Janet) Letter, Christopher Letter, Linda (Chuck) Beschta, Bobbie Jo (Pong) Her, Melissa (Jason) Boldt, Francis (Eric Horrell) Letter, and Timothy Letter; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by siblings: Jim (Sheila) Letter, Kathy (Jerry) Mueller, Karen (Mike) Forsberg, Cy (Patti) Letter, Chuck Letter, Barb (Murray) Neppl, and Carol (Matt) Opgenorth; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Lucille Letter, Ruth Letter, Sister Roslyn Skaletski, Leo (Marilyn) Skaletski, and Annabelle Skaletski. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Letter and Joseph Letter; nephew, Jonathan Letter; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Norbert Skaletski, Medard (Florence) Skaletski, and Doloris Skaletski.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with recital of the rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. David Greskowiak and Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
