Virginia L Zahn

Virginia L. "Ginny" Zahn, 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was born to the late Clarence and Gladys (Bratz) Beckman on March 19, 1935. On August 20, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gerald Zahn in Waupaca. Gerald preceded Ginny in death on February 10, 2008.

Ginny was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Cicero for nearly 70 years. Every Sunday after church, she loved to cheer on her Green Bay Packers. Ginny had a green thumb and took meticulous care of her flowers. She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals and would watch the deer and feed the birds. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Many fondly remember Ginny as the Secretary at Seymour/Rock Ledge Elementary School. She touched many lives in the community throughout her nearly 40-year career.

Ginny is survived by her children: Kerry (Ken) Goerl of Vancouver, WA; and Laurie Stimac of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren: Etta (Dean) Strey, Malena Goerl (Randall Friesen), Jesse (Jasmine) Stimac, and Ian Stimac; two great-grandchildren: Dawson and Lily Stimac; siblings: Nancy Larson, Ralph (Mary) Beckman, Marvin Beckman, and Margaret Beckman; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her husband, Ginny was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: Dave Larson and Ken Leal; and one sister-in-law: Darlene Beckman.

The family extends a special thanks to all of Ginny's wonderful neighbors for all of their care and concern over the years. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Dan and Pam Ossmann.

Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Cicero from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Ben Williams officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
