Robert W. Griffiths, 92, former Black Creek resident, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. The son of William and Martha (Gustin) Griffiths was born August 14, 1928, in Green Bay. He grew up in Kaukauna during the end of the Great Depression, and he spent the majority of his life farming in Black Creek. He was a dairy and hog farmer, and was a leader of WI Pork Producers group. Bob also worked in construction while farming. He purchased a DuraClean franchise, which he operated as a carpet and furniture cleaner for many years until his retirement.
Bob was united in marriage to Betty Plamann in August of 1954, and the couple had four children. Betty preceded Bob in death in February of 1994. He was later united in marriage to Jane Forbeck in November of 1996. Jane preceded Bob in death in August of 1999. In April of 2001 he was united in marriage with Dolores Baum. Dolores preceded Bob in death in March of 2018.
He was a devout Christian and was a longtime member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Center, where he served in numerous capacities. Bob loved his wives, his children, step-children, grandchildren, and was a dear friend to many. He was a loyal friend, and a family man. Bob enjoyed going to Mer & Jackie's (Five Corners), where he socialized with friends and enjoyed a cold glass of beer or a brandy old fashioned. He was an excellent bowler, and he participated in and won many tournaments. Bob also participated in a church dartball league. He liked to help others and would invite drivers who became stranded in snow storms to come in and warm up.
Survivors include four children: Thomas (Cheryl) Griffiths, Steven (Beth) Griffiths, Ann (Joseph) Probst, and Jon (Cari) Griffiths; five step-children: Laurie (Chuck) Easley, Terry Semrow, Kathy (Kurt) Campbell, Jim (Denise) Semrow, and Dave (Sarah) Semrow; nine grandchildren: Rachael (Andy) Longtine, Gretchen (Dan) Konopacky, and Garrett (Lisa) Griffiths; Aron Griffiths, and Leah Griffiths; Jacob and Benjamin Probst; and Sloane and Sayer Griffiths; three great-grandchildren: Sadie Longtine, Charlotte Griffiths, Alice Konopacky, and another on the way; his sister: Lorraine (Ken) Ziegler; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wives, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Marion (Gordon) Conradt.
A private funeral service will take place at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mackville (Town of Center), Pastor Andrew Frey officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A public celebration of life will take place after COVID. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Following the state mandates, social distancing and masks will be required to attend. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
