Kathleen Caliaro

August 3, 1947 ~ January 8, 2022 (age 74)

Kathleen S. Caliaro, 74, of Seymour passed away peacefully at home with the love of her life by her side on January 8, 2022.

I was born on August 3, 1947 to Alex and Dorothy (O'Neil) Lynch and was the oldest of four girls. I grew up in the little town of Powers, Michigan. Yes, I am a Yooper and proud of it.

It was an innocent age in our history because it was at a time when "I Love Lucy" was on TV, Doris Day movies were at the cinema, and Elvis Presley was on the radio. In fourth grade I was in a talent contest and sang "Que Sera Sera", a Doris Day song. Que sera sera means "what will be, will be" in French. Since I heard that song, it was my motto to live by throughout my life.

My favorite song of all time was "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley. "Bobby's Girl" was also on the radio at that time. I always thought that song was meant for me, and eventually it was because I became Bobby's girl on August 23, 1969 and we spent 52 wonderful years together.

We had two amazing children, Melissa and Mark, and four wonderful grandchildren: Brittney Kate, Ashlyn Rae, Carter Robert, and Gage Alexander. I always compared my life to the Garth Brooks song "The Dance." I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance. I could have missed the bad things, but then I would have had to miss the good things too.

Bob and I were not world travelers, but we loved the short trips that we took around Wisconsin and Michigan's U.P. We enjoyed Door County sunsets over the bay in Ephraim, campfires at our beautiful site in Aqualand, trips to Peninsula State Park, and little trips to The Ice Cream Factory.

Some of the joys in my life included watching high school basketball games with my basketball buddy, Mary Kemp, and the twelve trips to the state tournaments, seeing the legends of country music at the Seymour Fair, meeting Garth Brooks and getting a big ole' hug from him, times spent on the deck in Door County and watching the birds with Bob.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Robert; their children Melissa McMahon and Mark (Tanya) Caliaro; grandchildren Brittney McMahon and Ashlyn, Carter, and Gage Caliaro; sisters Betsy (Frank) Simon and Cindy Baker; brother-in-law, Dale Helgren; sister-in-law Elaine (Frank) Petiniot, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Dorothy Lynch; sister Becky Helgren; parents-in-law Carlo and Mary Caliaro; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ken Baker, Gloria Asselin, George (Joan) Caliaro.

Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 4:00 pm until the funeral service at 7:00 pm with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating.
