On December 6, 2021, our beloved father Dean C. Tubby, Sr., age 86, passed away with his family by his side. Most recently Dean was a resident of Seymour. He was born November 22, 1935, to the late Dan Tubby and Lula Chitto-Tubby. Dean was born and raised in Carthage, Mississippi, and was a member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. At the age of 14 he moved to Chicago, Illinois. He met and married the mother of his children, Yvonne E. Jourdan, and they spent 14 years in Chicago until they made Wisconsin their permanent home. Dean was employed at Standard Oil Company in Chicago and retired from Steen Macek Paper Company in Green Bay.
Dean was known for his sports activities throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, and Mississippi. He was an avid baseball player for over 10 years playing for the White Sox's minor league in Chicago, and he also played with the Oneida Wisconsin baseball team as well as teams in Seymour. He enjoyed coaching the Nichols Nitros dairyland baseball team. Dean was very well known for his bowling achievements while in Green Bay with numerous 300 games and his perfect series of 900. He finished up his sports activities with golfing throughout Wisconsin and traveled with some of his teammates across the country to golf in tournaments. He also frequented the Dancing Rabbit golf course on his homeland of Philadelphia, Mississippi.
Dean is survived by his children: Susan (Arlie-Jubie) Doxtator, Michelle (John) Nicholas, Dean Tubby Jr., and Kristina (Brandon) Metoxen. Dean had 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his nieces from Mississippi: Beatice Steve, Joanne Thompson, and Brenda Issac, and many nieces and nephews in Mississippi.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathon Tubby; his sister, Mabel (Earl) Billy; his nephew, Alexander Billy; his niece, Rita Steve; brothers-in-law: Frank Figueroa, Ron Jourdan, Kenny Jourdan, Virgil Jourdan, and James McKenzie; sisters-in-law: Patricia Benson, and Mildred Figueroa; and his special love, Kathy Berg.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, Bob Brown officiating.
