Wayne Shepard

December 12, 1955 — June 16, 2025

Wayne B. Shepard, age 69, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Wayne was born on December 12, 1955 to the late John and Caroline (Hintz) Shepard. Wayne was united in marriage to Suzette Guyette on September 6, 1986. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2015.

Wayne graduated from Seymour High School. Wayne dedicated most of his career to MCC, Inc., where he worked with pride until retiring in February 2022. After retirement, Wayne embraced the freedom of the open road-always ready for a ride, especially taking the backroads. When not out joyriding, he found peace and joy on the deck, swinging and chatting on the phone, or enjoying his favorite tractor shows and episodes of Tom & Jerry with his grandchildren. Wayne had one of the biggest hearts, and his family was everything to him. He was a stubborn man in the best sense-fiercely independent and never one to be fussed over. Even in his final days, he insisted we not "waste" our day sitting by his side, a testament to his selfless and humble spirit.

He is survived by his children: Dave (Carmen) Shepard, and their children Brayden, Bryce and Charlotte; Charlie (Shannon) Shepard, and their children, Trevor and Aubree; Jennie Smith, Steve Smith and their children, Lexus, Riley and Madelynn; siblings: Donald (Bonnie) Shepard, Sally (Dennis) Lorenz, Jean Shepard, Judy (Brian) Ziewacz, Denis (Berniece) Shepard, Terry Shepard, and Jeffrey (Wanda) Shepard; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Linda Shepard, Rallin Guyette, Charles Guyette, Rhonda Gast, Donna Mae (Doc) Decaro, Sue Guyette, Ron (Kathy) Guyette, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Suzette Shepard; brothers: John Shepard and Leroy Shepard. Sister-in-law Ellen Shepard and brother in laws Glen Guyette and Donald (Betty) Guyette.
