POWLESS, TONY N.
Tony N. Powless, age 42, began his journey to the spirit world on Jan. 15, 2008 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Tony was born on April 9, 1965 to Dorothy Ninham and Herbert Powless.

Tony loved the redwoods and the ocean; and enjoyed the adventures of traveling. He also loved music, dancing, socializing, singing, especially with his brothers. Tony was fashionable and loved to dress well. He was a very generous person; and was known for his sense of humor and loved his family and friends. In his final days he lived with his Mom and special niece Neecie.

He is survived by: his sisters: Georgia Powless Fool Bull, Oneida; Gina Buenrostro (Fiance Terry Doxtator), Oneida; Cheryl (Dale) Powless, Seymour; Carrie (Geri) Cornelius, Arizona; Ginna Johnson, Oneida; Jaylee (Mike) Buckholtz; his brothers: Vincent "Buddy" (Linda) Powless, Oneida; Geronimo (Michelle) Powless, DePere; Dave (Barb) Cornelius, Kansas; Charles "Chuck" Cornelius, Kansas; Bruce (Louise) Cornelius, Oneida; Charles Carrufel, Lac du Flambeau. Tony is further survived by his best friend and true love Sayokla Williams, Oneida. Tony is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his step-father, Don Cornelius; unborn child, special Aunt, Lorraine Cornelius; Uncle John Powless; Aunt Angie Powless; Uncle Rufus High Hawk; his grandparents: Margaret and Mark Powless; Malinda Jordan.

Visitation will be at the family residence at N5679 Skylark Drive, DePere on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 4 PM until Friday, Jan. 18 at 6 PM. The Oneida Singers will be present from 6:30 PM until 7 PM Thursday. Traditional Native American Church services will be held at the Oneida Longhouse on Reformatory Road on Friday at 7 PM officiated by Vincent "Buddy" Powless. Burial rites will be held at the Oneida Nation Cemetery, Oneida, at 11 AM Saturday, January 19 with Leander Danforth officiating, with a noon day meal at the Oneida Longhouse. All are welcome to visit the family fire at the residence. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family. On line condolences can be made to www.muehlboettcher.com .
