Stanley George Heinemeyer

February 22, 1941 — August 3, 2025

Stanley George Heinemeyer, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home on August 3rd, 2025. Stan the "Service Man" will be missed by all who knew him. Stan was born on February 22, 1941 in Stanton, North Dakota to Richard and Frances (Armstong) Heinemeyer. Stanton is located along the Missouri River, a notable location, as this is where his grandfather traded with the famed Lakota leader Sitting Bull. Stan's father, Richard Heinemeyer was a homesteader and shoe cobbler. After the passing of his father, Stan and his mother moved to Hebron, North Dakota where he attended school.

Stan married Joanne Schantz from Glen Ullin, North Dakota on January 30, 1960. While in North Dakota, Stan (known as "Whitey") worked as a: plumber, electrician, carpenter, worked construction, also on farms and grain elevators. In addition, Whitey also managed a lumber yard and a bowling alley during his career. Stan served as the president of the city park and the Jaycee's. Stan also served several Boy Scout troops in North Dakota and Wisconsin for over 40 years.

In 1969, Stan and Joanne moved to Wisconsin with their two sons Dion and Dino. A daughter Doni and son Bo were born soon after. He and Joanne purchased their little red and white house on Navarino Road where they raised their four children. Stan went to work as a carpenter for a few weeks and then on to the Nichols Co-op, where he put his talents to work for the next 39 years before retiring in 2006. Stan was also a proud volunteer fireman for 60+ years between the Hebron and Nichols Fire Departments. Stan was well known for his unique ability to hold the local umpire crews accountable for their actions during countless years of watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. Stan had a sharp wit, a quick smile, and was always first in line to help friends and family. "Whitey" will be remembered as a man who was always there when you needed help. His smile, knowledge, and talents will be sorrowly missed.

Stan was the last survivor of his eight brothers and two sisters.

Stan is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joanne; children Dion (Sandi), Dino (Sara), Doni (Saul) and Bo (Cheryl); grandchildren Josh (Amanda), Bret (Emily), Talon (Megan), Mitchell (Connie), Jacob (Paige), Laken, Ben (Kayla), Austin, Hunter, Ethan, Bryn, and Tes; and great grandchildren Ashlynn, Cade, McKenna, Alexis, Anders, Ayson, Hailey, Garrett, Dakotah, Lily, and Callum.

Per Stan's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. There will be a "Last Call" Saturday, August 16th at 4:00pm at the Nichols Fire Dept. After this tribute Stan will be escorted by the Nichols Fire Department back to the little red and white house he and Joanne spent all their years together.
