BERNETZKE, RUTH DOROTHY

Ruth Dorothy (Hansen) Bernetzke, age 95, died peacefully at the Rennes Health Center on September 5, 2008. She was born on October 22, 1912 daughter of Asmus and Minnie Hansen. She married Theodore Bernetzke and the two farmed together in the town of Freedom until Ted's passing in 1975.

Ruth was member of the Freedom Moravian Church and the Friendly Service Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and camping with Dennis. She hardly ever missed one of her grandson's basketball games and enjoyed a good Sheepshead game.

Ruth is survived by her son James and his wife Debbie, seven grandchildren: Jerry (Cindy) Bernetzke, Carol Steffens, Ken Bernetzke, Kristi (Jeff) Crooks, Jason (Jessica) Bernetzke, Josh (fiancee Jamie Malouf) Bernetzke, Jake (special friend Jen Evers) Bernetzke; six + (one on the way) great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Vander Velden and Lucille Campbell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ted; two sons, Robert (at birth) and Dennis; three brothers and their wives; Lawrence (Minnie) Hansen, Chester (Minnie) Hansen, Elmer (Frieda) Hansen; three sisters and their husbands: Martha (Joe) Schmidt, Margaret (Clarence) Schneider, Josephine (Carlton) Andrews and two brothers-in-law, Virgil Vander Velden and Stanley Campbell; and Ted's brother and sisters.

Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour from 4 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 and Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Freedom Moravian Church from 10 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Jason Anderson officiating.
