Ru-Jean Hughes, 93, of Seymour, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, October 3, 2019. She was born May 27, 1926, daughter of the late Gilbert and Clara (Solem) Bakken.
Ru-Jean was united in marriage to Lemuel Eakl and James Hughes, who both precedeed her in death.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to Las Vegas, and playing poker.
Ru-Jean is the loving mother to: Linda (William) Savage, Lee (Faye) Eakle, and Sheila (Charles) Wieczorek; and proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was the youngest of nine children, and her siblings all preceded her in death. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 3:00 pm until the memorial service at 5:00 pm with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Chicago.
