Rosemary Coenen

Rosemary "Rosie" Ann Coenen, nee Otto, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024. at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay at the age of 87.

Rosie was born on December 22, 1936 to the late William and Rose (Kronz) Otto in Black Creek, WI. Rosie grew up in the town of Black Creek on the family farm. She attended and graduated from Seymour High School. Rosie was united in marriage to Duane Coenen on September 6, 1958 in Black Creek, WI. Rosie was a beloved wife and mother. She worked the family farms located in Black Creek and Center.

in 1996, Rosie and Duane retired and moved to Shawano Lake. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crafting, crocheting, playing cards and games, golfing, fishing, listening to country and western music and polka music, and polka dancing. Rosie and Duane became snowbirds and spent many winters in Florida together.

She is survived by her children; Gary (Tammy) Coenen, Connie (Wayne) Stamper, Karen Wendt, Cindy (Steve) Nysse, and Tina (Paul) Wenninger; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; further survived by in-laws Ken Coenen, Kay Otto, Sallie Otto, and Gene (Linda) Koponen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, Duane, siblings William Otto, Loren (the late Mary Ann) Otto, Bruce Otto, in-laws Lois Coenen, Kermit (the late Joan) Coenen, Don (the late Jo Ann) Coenen, and nephews Tom Coenen and Ricky Otto.

Visitation will take place at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 9:00 AM until the funeral mass at 11:00 AM with Fr. Sengole Dass and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
