Roger Braun

Roger E. Braun, age 88, of Seymour passed away peacefully in Manistique, Michigan on Sunday, September 19, 2021. He was born on May 14, 1933, a son of the late Esther Braun.

Roger was united in marriage to Donna Voelz on August 19, 1961, having celebrated 60 years of marriage.

He worked in the school district for many years and enjoyed driving many kids to school over his long career. Before working as a custodian at Seymour High School Roger served in the Army as a cook, farmed, worked at Seymour Lumber and was on the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.

Roger enjoyed spending time with his family. He liked taking his granddaughters out for breakfast, gardening, camping, woodworking, listening to polka music and going out to eat with mom at Krabbe's.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Braun; daughter, Nancy (Chris) Sievert; two granddaughters: Courtney (Zack) Davis and Morgan (special friend, Clayton) Sievert; great-granddaughter, Rendley Davis; sister, Lois Lemke; brother, Ronald (Jean) Hinkfuss; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and George Hinkfuss; brother-in-law, John Lemke.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4 pm to 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11 am
with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.
