Rodney Keith Harrison, 55, beloved husband, musician and inspiration, played his final farewell song on May 4, 2020. He entered this world on February 5, 1965 in Hollywood, CA, born to Jerry and Maxine (Adeane) Harrison.
Rodney entered the music world on his 10th birthday with a Silvertone guitar he bought with his own money. His beloved uncles, Louis and Martin taught him the blues and classic rock. Rod was an all around musician; he played guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, keyboards, mostly self-taught. He created and produced both his own music and others and had many band families over his lifetime.
Rodney moved to Wisconsin in 1995. He graduated from Fox Valley Tech Truck Driving School in 2012. His life was blessed when he was united in marriage to Amy Grunert August 24 of 2013.
Rodney was energetic, fun-loving and always the life of the party. He lived his life by his daily plan, “Teach something, learn something, help someone, and make someone smile.” Rodney will be remembered for his music, and guitar solos that brought tears to your eyes. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his wife Amy and fur babies: Marley and Shadow. His mother Maxine McKinney; sister Chris (Orion) Stirtz; brother William "Bear" McKinney; daughter Jasmine Harrison; grandsons: Tylier & Mathieu; step-son Ricky Vasquez; uncle Martin (Toni) Joseph; cousins: Kim Masters, Kate (Claudio) Joseph, James Joseph, Justin Powers, Don Joseph, David (Sharon) Joseph, Vikki (Elliott) Fowble, and Jeff Joseph; nephews: Nicoya, Kalex, Lance, Logan; neice: Rinoa; and many other family members, friends and musicians that are considered family.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father Jeremiah Harrison Jr.; uncle Louis Joseph; uncle: Ronnie Joseph; and aunt Patricia Masters.
A memorial concert will be held post COVID-19 precautions (hoping for August) and all will be invited to come share stories, play music, celebrate his life and Rock On!
