Robert Skinkis

Robert "Bob" Skinkis, age 71, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was born on October 5, 1952 to the late Stanley and Rose Marie (Fischer) Skinkis.

He was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church in Seymour.

Bob was united in marriage to Sharon Matuszak on May 6, 1978 having celebrated 46 wonderful years together.

He has a collection of over 200 pedal cars and tractors as well as hundreds if not thousands of collectible diecast cars. Bob loved his work and helped countless customers with their building and remodeling projects over the years. Most of all, he loved his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon Skinkis; children: Stacy Bessette, Ryan Skinkis, Craig (special friend, Felicia) Skinkis, Ashley Skinkis; granddaughters: Cali Bessette, Allison (Daniel) Bessette, and Rayna Bessette. He is further survived by his siblings: Larry (Jane) Skinkis, Jean (Terry) Conradt, Randy (Cassandra) Skinkis, Steve (Doreen) Skinkis, Mary (Mike) Blohm, Joe (Julie) Skinkis, and Jeff (Mary) Skinkis; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many good friends.

In addition to his parents and in-laws, he was preceded in death by a niece and goddaughter, Laura Skinkis; and nephew, Mark Skinkis.

Visitation will take place at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 12 noon with Fr. Bob Kabat and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's memory are appreciated.
