Robert E. "Bob" Schultz, a long time resident of Black Creek, passed away on April 11, 2026 at the age of 91 at Ballard Glenn Assisted Living. Bob was born on March 23, 1935 in Appleton to Ervin and Edna (Schroeder) Schultz. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1955.
Bob enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country for four years. While never having an opportunity to serve overseas, he enjoyed every base he was assigned to here in the States. Always finding a way to check out the local fishing sites, catching a shark, hunting or scuba diving in the Gulf. After discharge he returned home to Appleton where he soon married Yvonne Schultz in September of 1960. Together they were blessed with 4 children.
Bob was employed at Pitney Bowes as a service technician for 36 years. Retiring only to then drive school bus for 10 years with Huettl's Bus Service. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving in numerous roles during his lifetime.
Bob's love of hunting and fishing began at an early age, creating enthusiasm that spilled over to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping and spending time at his "up north" property in Vilas county. He was a dog lover, owning 4 black labs during his lifetime. He was an avid gardener even though his garden became smaller and smaller through the later years. He made wine from the wild grapes grown in the fields near his home and enjoyed sharing it with others. Besides his love for his family, Bob had a passion for music, playing as a drummer for Charlie and the Two Bobs, a polka band, for nearly 45 years, with his friends, Arvin "Charlie" Winkler and Bob Butler. As the family grew, he and Yvonne could be found at sporting events where their grandchildren and great grandchildren participated. He was happiest when his family was all together for occasions, celebrations, and events.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Yvonne; children, Shari Kaczorowski, Lori (late Jim) Quillen, Scott (Laura) Schultz and Connie (Corey) Kettner; Seven grandchildren: Alan Schultz, Zeke Kaczorowski, Casey (Schultz) Griesbach, Ali (Kaczorowski) Court, Masin and Emma Kettner and Hannah Quillen; Five great-grandchildren - Trevor and Taylor Schultz, Kellen, Kaden and Kameron Court.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Edna Schultz; his sister, Betty Lemberger; brother in law, Wayne Lemberger; great-grandson, Hunter Schultz; Son-in-law, Jim Quillen.
Funeral services for Bob will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastor Matthew Schoell and Pastor Mark Gartner officiating with full military honors to follow. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Interment at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and fellow residents at Ballard Glenn and St. Croix Hospice for their outstanding service and care.
