Robert Ossmann

Robert E. Ossmann, age 85, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 5, 1931, son of the late Ernest Sr. and Alma (Lowenhagen) Ossmann.

On February 3, 1951 he was united in marriage to Arlene Matuszak, having celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Bob farmed in the town of Cicero for many years, and had also worked at Seymour Lumber and Miller Masonry.

He was a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cicero.

In addition to Bob's love of farming, he enjoyed the outdoors, from grooming his lawn to a good day fishing. Bob and Arlene enjoyed traveling and their weekend getaways. He liked working with his hands and frequently talked about the different building projects that he was proud to be a part of. Following his retirement he was passionate about his woodworking, having built many different projects for his family.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene; children: Dan (Pam) Ossmann, Derald Ossmann, Debbie (Ron) Arndt; Dorothy (Chuck) Hein; Danette (Brian Lepianka) Ossmann; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; brother: Vernon (Janette) Ossmann; four sisters: Lydia Tews, Lavern Ziemer, Elaine Court, and Ione Kuehne; also survived many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by two children: Dennis and Charlene; grandson: Jason; great-grandchildren: Cody and Callista; his brothers: Emerald, Marvin, Emerson, Amos and Ernest.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cicero, on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 9:30 am until funeral services at 11 am with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating.
