Robert "Bob" R. Cross, age 71, of Polar passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2024. He was born in Antigo, WI on March 6, 1953 to the late Russell and Voldean (Ligon) Cross.
In May of 1973 Bob began a 31 year long career in the casting plant for Chrysler and was a proud UAW member.
He was married to Cheryl (Kuenzli) and they later divorced.
Following retirement from Chrysler, Bob made his way back home to enjoy his property in White Lake. He spent countless hours working on various projects, whether it was fabricating or welding, there wasn't much that he couldn't accomplish with his hands.
Bob married Kim Walters-Cross on July 11, 2008 in Polar, WI. Together they enjoyed Bob's love of being out on the road on his Harley, having taken several bike trips near and far. If Bob wasn't out helping a friend or neighbor with his backhoe or other piece of equipment, he could usually be found tinkering in his garage (his favorite place to be besides being on the bike) creating sparks or dust to get something fixed.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Walters-Cross; daughter, Amy (Bryan) Curcio of Janesville; adopted daughter: Jeanie Cross; step-son: Joel (Ashley) Walters of Seymour; step-daughter: Jessie (Mike Lehman) Dixon of Polar; grandchildren: Will, Abbie, and Gavin Bloomgren, Giovanni Curcio; step-grandchildren: Justin Pomasl, Jonathan Walters, Austin and Kenley Helser, Shawn and Mary Lehman.
Bob is further survived by his siblings: Carol (Ken) Johnson of Georgia, Betti Cross of Illinois, Russell (Betty) Cross of Polar, Janet (Ron) Brewer of Illinois, Beverly (Mike) Robinson of Minocqua, and Rodney (Marie) Cross of Bryant; sister-in-law, Eileen Cross of Illinois; mother-in-law, Marilyn Walters; sister-in-law, Lisa (Lee) Kuenzli; brother-in-law, Craig Walters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Roger Cross and Richard (Kathleen) Cross; father-in-law, Bill Walters; and step-granddaughter, Hadley Maass.
Visitation for Bob will take place at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, Antigo, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 6:00 pm.
