Phyllis Christianson

Phyllis June Christianson, 93, Seymour, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. She was born July 18, 1929, to the late Robert and Dena (Paulson) Fischer. Phyllis grew up on the family farm in the Town of Lessor. She was baptized at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Lunds on September 1, 1929, and was confirmed on April 18, 1943, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Her confirmation verse read, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Phyllis was a 1947 graduate of Bonduel High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Christianson on September 5, 1951, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Navarino, and the couple had five children. Robert preceded Phyllis in death on April 30, 1995.

Phyllis and Robert began their farming career in 1954 until they sold the farm to their son, Neil, in 1991. She worked as a secretary at Bonduel High School, then worked at Wisconsin Electric, and later worked as a secretary at Ascension Lutheran Church for over 30 years. Phyllis worked in food service with her good friend, Jackie Tonn, at Navarino Ski Hill, Navarino and Bonduel School Districts, and The Gathering in Shawano. She also belonged to Navarino Homemakers Club for 30+ years, and she was very involved in Ascension Circle bible study and quilting groups. Phyllis greatly enjoyed traveling on bus trips with her sisters.

Survivors include five children: Mark Christianson, Dawn (Ray) Coulthart, Neil (Noreen) Christianson, Lynn (Tom) Kobus, and Ann (Brad) Lotto; grandchildren: Sarah (Patrick) Aiello, Jennifer (Jed) Hoffman, Blair (Katie) Christianson, Brooke Carlton, Bryce Kobus, Kaitlin Lotto, and Kendall Lotto; five great-grandchildren: Ava, Landon, Maycie, Ryder, and Suttyn; one sister-in-law, Elaine Krull; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by four sisters: Dorothy (Harry) Jankowski, Laura (Pete) Figlinski, Mabel (Duane) Zeuske, and Delores (Frank) Radeske; two brothers-in-law, Raymond (Joy) Christianson, and Marvin Krull; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will take place at Zion Lutheran Church, 1254 S. Union Street, Shawano, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services to celebrate Phyllis' life at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Pastor Scott Ludford officiating. Burial will take place at Ascension Lutheran Cemetery in Navarino. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family extends a special thanks to the staffs of Good Shepherd Services and Unity Hospice for their compassionate care.
