Oliver Lerum

Oliver "Ollie" Lerum, age 96, passed away unexpectedly a St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay on September 22, 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to Muehl - Boettcher Funeral Home Seymour, WI.
Ollie was born on June 12, 1925, to Otto and Jennie (Sandberg) Lerum. He was raised on multiple farms in the area and graduated from Pepin High School. His most memorable farm was in Nelson, WI. Ollie served in the US Army during WWII, he continued in the Army reserves for a total 17 years. He was a proud veteran and member of American Legion Post 106. He also earned his bachelor's degree in agriculture education from UW River Falls and taught agriculture in Seymour, WI and at Fox Valley Technical College for a total of 37 years. Ollie also attended 37 summer conferences studying various topics and farmed for over 50 years.
Ollie was untied in marriage to LaVerne L. Olson on February 11th, 1949, who preceded him in death in 1966. They had four children: Judy, Randy, Jeff, and Amy. Ollie was united in marriage on November 23rd, 1967, to Adeline "Pudge" (Thorson) Krohlow who had three children: Robin, Susan, and Steven. In addition to being involved at church and an author, Ollie had been a member of the FFA, American Legion, along with numerous civic boards and organizations. Ollie enjoyed visiting with people of all ages and would often have a few stories to tell.
Survivors include his children: Judy (Stephen) Zillmer; Watertown, Randy (Kelly) Lerum; Seymour; Amy (Mike) Albrightson, Woodville; Robin (Jack Bothwell) Krohlow, Hartland; Susan (Gary) Stephani, Los Angeles; Steven (special friend, Donna) Krohlow, Seymour; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, siblings, and wives, Ollie was preceded in death by his son, Jeff.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
