Norman Lawrence Steffens

Town of Black Creek - Norman Steffens, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Norman's journey on earth began on September 2, 1943, son of the late Paul and Loretta (Linsmeyer) Steffens. Norman was united in marriage to the late Mary Biese on April 27, 1968 at St. John's Church, Seymour and they shared 53 years of their lives together.

Norman was known as a hardworking and skilled electrician, earning him the memorable nickname "Stormin' Norman." He spent the majority of his career at Elmstar Electric Corporation. He took pride in providing for his family and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He found joy in the woods, whether hunting deer and turkey or simply observing wildlife through his trail cameras. Norman had a knack for striking up conversations with anyone he met, and his signature opening line, "Are you still in love yet?" always brought a smile to people's faces.

Norman is survived by his children and spouses: William (Jenny) Steffens, Karen (Scott) Berndt, Rick (Angela) Steffens, Bonnie (Travis) Leisgang; his grandchildren: Megan Steffens (fiancé, Owen Geurts), Kyle Steffens, Zachary Berndt, Brock Berndt, Connor Steffens, Caden Steffens, Peyton (Shane) Feustel, Cael Leisgang, Cash Leisgang; great grandchildren: Huxson and Hayes.

A private family burial will take place at St. John's Parish Cemetery, honoring Norman's wishes.
