Norma Hoffman

Norma Jean Hoffman, 98, of Seymour, Wisconsin died on February 27, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin from complications following a stroke.

Norma was born on February 8, 1926 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Howard Augustus Baumer and Elizabeth Margaret (Shepherd) Baumer. She graduated from Rochester West High School in 1943. Following high school Norma joined the Cadet Corp earning her RN degree from Rochester General Hospital in 1945. On August 27, 1949 she married Richard W Hoffman enjoying 53 years of marriage until Richard's death in 2002. Norma worked as a pediatric nurse in hospital and clinical settings from 1945 until beginning her own family. To accommodate Richard's job, Norma, Richard and a growing family moved to Michigan in 1956, and subsequently to Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana. Norma moved back to Wisconsin in 2020.

Norma kept the inner child alive enjoying a fun and happy life throughout her 98 years. Her easy smile and genuine concern for others led to meaningful, lasting relationships. She loved and was loved and will truly be missed.

Norma was a longtime member of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was known as the consummate caregiver at the church, caring for two generations of infants in some families. Norma was also active in fellowship circles and women's groups at the church.

Norma is survived by four children: Joan (Robert) Blouin of Destin, Florida; Scott (Debbie) Hoffman of Brownsburg, Indiana; Gregg Hoffman of Duluth, Minnesota; Laura (Jim) Brill of Seymour, Wisconsin; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Howard Earl Baumer.

Arrangements are being handled by Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home Seymour, Wisconsin where thoughts and memories can be shared at their website www.muehlboettcher.com. A graveside service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Fishers, Indiana is to be scheduled.

The family is especially thankful for the supportive community and excellent care given to Norma in her later years at Meadow Wood Assisted Living in Seymour, Wisconsin.

In Norma's memory please treat your friends to lunch, bake brownies for a neighbor, always have dog treats at the ready, greet a stranger and be open to a new lifelong friendship.
