Melissa Heins

April 28, 1967 — December 27, 2017

Melissa Kae (Krull) Heins, 50, of Black Creek, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born April 28, 1967, a daughter of Eugene and Karen (Willenkamp) Krull.

Melissa graduated from Freedom High School in 1985 and attended UW Stout. She was a faithful member of First English Lutheran Church, Appleton.

On October 14, 1995 she was united in marriage to Thomas Heins at Grace Lutheran Church in Appleton.

She organized TAFFE (Teachers And Families For Education) for the Black Creek school and served on the Seymour Community School District School Board. She missed working with her coworkers at IPAP where she always enjoyed the time solving the challenges of her job.

She enjoyed time with her family camping, her daughter’s band concerts and school functions, roller coasters, parades, golf meets, enjoyed entertaining guests, playing games, and always liked to volunteer her family to help.

Melissa was a wonderful wife, mother, and daughter. No matter where she was, Melissa was always creating meaningful connections and relationships with others. Melissa would always put others first, and worry about what she needed later.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughters: Gretchen and Grace; parents: Eugene and Karen Krull; brother, Mark (Jackie) Krull; sisters-in-laws: Margaret (Robert) Ingle, Karin (Ronald) Fraser, and Kathy Heins; nephews: Luke Krull, Travis (Maggie) Fraser; and niece, Emily (Kevin) Smithback; great-nephew: Fletcher Fraser; great-nieces: Riley and Frankie Fraser.

Melissa is preceded in death by: mother-in-law and father-in-law, Johann and Erika Heins; and brother-in-law, Hans Heins.

Friends may call at First English Lutheran Church, North Site, 6331 N. Ballard Rd., Appleton on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 pm.
