Matthew Zahn

Matthew Arden Zahn, 65, passed away September 13, 2026. He was born September 18, 1960, the second of eleven children and son of the late Ronald and Ione Zahn. Also preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Arnold and Verona Roskom, and his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Viola Zahn, and step grandfather, Leo Stephani.

Matt started working as a paperboy delivering hundreds of papers every day and worked in the family businesses of liquor and furniture. He also had a profitable vending business for several years and bartended. He studied Cosmetology and became a barber. After studying accounting and airline ground principles, Matt worked in a wide range of jobs involving the airline industry and logistics, the cheese industry, and for the Oneida Nation for more than 14 years.

Matt's golden retriever, Rusty, was his constant companion. He loved music and spent a lot of time going to concerts, especially listening to local bands. He immensely enjoyed talking to people, could strike up a conversation with anyone, and never lost an opportunity to talk one's ear off. He traveled on multiple cruises and visited several countries. Matt enjoyed listening to the Brewers on the radio and cheering on the Packers, both from home and attending several games.

He had a great love for his brothers and sisters and is survived by his 10 siblings: Mark (Renee), Seymour, Jeff (Sandy), Black Creek, Diane Olson (Mike) New Berlin, Randy (Connie), Seymour, Darin (friend Connie), Seymour, Doug, Appleton, Steven (Staci), Appleotn, Arden (Michelle), Seymour, Jeanne VerVoort (Mike), Seymour, and Darlene Crombie (Jeff), Seymour. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He accumulated many friends through his gregariousness and work.

Visitaiton for Matt will take place at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour on Monday, September 28, 2026 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Bob Kabat and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and money, the family asks for donations to go to a Mental Health or Alzheimer's organization in Matthew's name.
