Martin Webster, age 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Thursday afternoon, November 1, 2007 at his home. He was born July 9, 1929 in Oneida, son of the late Arthur Oliver Sr. and Josephine (Wheelock) Webster.

He was employed for 47 years of dedicated service at U.S. Paper Mill in DePere. Martin was a U.S. Navy Veteran from 1950-1955 serving on the USS Olympus. Martin was an avid baseball player for the Oneida baseball team in the late 40's and bowled through the mid 90's. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, country music, watching sports on television and visits by his great-nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Oneida Methodist Church and the Oneida VFW Post 7784.

He is survived by three brothers: Irvin Webster; Oneida; Clifford (Wanda) Webster, Oneida; Donald (Alma) Webster; DePere; Three sisters: Marie Scott; Oneida; Shirley Blum; Park Ridge, IL; Audrey Webster; DePere; sister-in-law, Rita Webster; God-son John Webster; and many special nieces and nephews; special friends: Chester G. Smith, Romy Doxtator and Carol Silva.
Martin was preceded in death by: his parents, Arthur and Josephine; two brothers, Robert and Arthur; one niece, Rhonda Webster.

Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 5 to 8 P.M. on Sunday, November 4, with the Oneida Singers at 6:30 PM. A prayer service will be held at 7 P.M. with Doug Skenandore presiding. Funeral services will be Monday, November 5, at the Oneida Methodist Church, Oneida, from Noon until services at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Walter Reed officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
