Margueritte Gardner

May 20, 1932 — October 17, 2022

Margueritte "Muggs" S. Gardner, age 90, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour, Wisconsin.

She was born on May 20, 1932 to the late Gabriel and Emily (De Bauche) Shirk.

Margueritte was united in marriage to Jack Gardner of Richmond, Indiana on May 9, 1953.

Margueritte enjoyed tending her many plants, pinching pennies until they screamed, and aggravating anybody that she could. Philanthropic in nature (which means she was good at spending the children's inheritance), she donated funds for the dinosaurs at the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay, a statue in the Heritage Park in Bryan, Texas of her mother and a brother and sister fishing in the river, and also assisted the Brown County, Wisconsin Sheriff's Department in purchasing a rescue boat that was named "SS Margueritte" in her honor.

Margueritte is survived by her three children: Gary R. Gardner of Richmond, Texas, Gail G. Clark of Eunice, Louisiana, and Greg A. Gardner of Charlotte, North Carolina, and four grandchildren Sara Wingfield, Stephen Kelling, Ashley Gardner and Matthew Kelling, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her; her mother and father, her husband, Jack Gardner, four brothers; Andre (Andy) Schirk, Albert (Wimpy), George Schirk, Jerry Schirk, five sisters; Jeanette Arcand, Alice Ackerboom, and Magdeline Wolf and an infant and toddler sister, both named Isabelle.

In following with her wishes, no funeral services will be held at this time.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the administration and staff of Good Shepherd Services in Seymour, Wisconsin who took such good care of her in her last years.
