Lorraine Sawlsville

June 14, 1941 — January 4, 2024

Lorraine Sawlsville, age 82, of Black Creek died peacefully at her home, with her family by her side on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Lorraine was born at home in Peplin, WI on June 14, 1941 to the late Enick and Mary (Sitko) Dawiedczyk. After graduating from Mosinee High School in 1959, she worked in Chicago for a small time before being united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Rodney L. Sawlsville on November 3, 1962 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Peplin. In 1972, Lorraine and Rodney settled and provided a beautiful loving home for their three children (Robin, Todd, and Beth) in Neenah, WI.

Lorraine worked at multiple places through the years including Treasure Island, Miles Kimbal, and Fox Cities Insurance with over 20 years at AAA Pet Supplies alongside her husband Rodney and son Robin.

Lorraine was dedicated to anything related to her children and grandchildren including Boy/Girl Scouts, soccer programs, 1000 Yard Youth Football program. She also was a member of bowling teams and Homemakers. She loved playing bridge and was in several bridge clubs. Through these activities she enjoyed her time with family and met some of her closest lifelong friends.

In 2006, Lorraine retired from the insurance industry to pamper her granddaughter Anna full-time and a bit later Mia. Lorraine became great friends with Anna's and Mia's other Grandma (Marge) during the many hours commuting from Neenah/Menasha to Black Creek and back as they discussed all things regarding family and life.

In 2019, Lorraine moved to Black Creek to live with her daughter Beth and son-n-law Mike where Lorraine helped raise her grand-daughters, Anna and Mia. Lorraine loved watching them grow and was so excited to hear about their day. Every emotion they felt, she shared with them. During the past few years, Lorraine really loved family meals, enjoyed the theater, band, and choir programs at Seymour High School, was the biggest fan of the Seymour Girl's Swim Team, looked forward to phone calls/visits from family/friends, and belonged to St. Mary's Catholic church in Black Creek.

Lorraine will forever be remembered, missed, and loved by: Beth (Mike) Schmalz, daughter-in-law, Becky (Meshach) Sawlsville, Grandchildren: Ryan Sawlsville, Joshua Sawlsville, Jessica Sawlsville, Kristen Frambs, Jason (Tina) Sawlsville, Anna Schmalz, Mia Schmalz, Ryan (Liz) Schmalz, Nichole (Nick) Van Zeeland, Brandon (Emily) Schmalz and several Great-grandchildren. Lorraine will also be remembered and missed by her sister Arlene (Eugene) Pietrzykowski, brother Terry (Barbara) Davczyk, and sister-n-law Kay Sawlsville along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney; son, Robin; son, Todd; daughter-n-law Lori; brother-n-law Jerry Sawlsville; and sister-n-law Lana Kaufman

"Grandma gave the best hugs with lots of love in her bones." We will forever miss those hugs, good morning smiles, and good night kisses. The loss of you created a huge void in our lives, but we know you belong to and are with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We thank God for the gift of time we had with you. Love you Mom! Love you Grandma!
