Laurie Ganzel

September 12, 1962 — November 11, 2025

Laurie Ann Ganzel, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour, WI surrounded by her family.

Laurie was born on September 12, 1962 to Kenneth and Sharon (Greenquist) Ganzel. Laurie had the biggest heart. She exuded kindness, thoughtfulness, sweetness, and caring with some stubbornness mixed in. To know Laurie was to love her! She was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. She always wanted to help and to be a part of whatever was going on.

Laurie thrived at Plamann School both as a student and as a mentor to her peers. She loved attending weekly Special Religion classes. Laurie was a star employee at Valley Packaging for 24 years where she took great pride packaging Kimberly Clark products.

Laurie loved reading books, listening to country music, doing word searches, watching movies, and playing games. Her favorite games were Double Solitaire with her dad, Uno, and Wii. She was an expert Wii bowler!

Laurie looked forward to having her favorite foods and drinks. Friday snack nights were a highlight of her week. Her favorite foods were apples, carrots, bananas, "Dunn County" pasties, and fish with French fries. Her favorite beverages? were chocolate milk, root beer and orange floats, Dr. Pepper, and kiddie cocktails.

Laurie gave amazing back and foot massages. Watching tv together while she gave relaxing massages was the best. There was always a lineup of customers eager for her services!

Laurie's birthday was her most favorite day of each year! She looked forward to September 12 and delighted in multiple rounds of "Happy Birthday" and blowing out the candles!

Laurie was an adoring sister and aunt who played anything and everything, first with her sisters and later with her nieces and nephews. She loved time spent with her family.

Laurie had a joy-filled soul and lived a life driven by love. May her legacy of love and kindness forever be emblazoned in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Laurie is survived by her mom Sharon Ganzel; sisters: Carrie (Scott) Winkler, Kelly Kaster, and Paula (Tate) Zurbuchen; nieces and nephews: Caitlynn (Chris) Acy, Jordan (Amanda) Kaster, Michael Winkler & fiancee Marya Haugland, Makenna Zurbuchen & fiance Andrew Duke, Marissa (Noah) Huotari, and Ryan Zurbuchen & fiancee Emma Williams; great nieces: Hadley Zurbuchen and Emerson Huotari.
