Larry Kettner, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Larry was born on September 26, 1956, to the late Edward "Pat" and Laura (Zocholl) Kettner. Larry was united in marriage to Anna Plach on August 17, 1991, in Black Creek.
He enjoyed duck hunting down at the marsh with family and his friend Jim Adamovich. Larry never missed spring walleye fishing on the raft in Shiocton; nothing else was important for those few weeks every year. Deer hunting with his kids and grandchildren was another family tradition he cherished. Larry grew up trapping fur with his family and preparing the hides in the basement with his siblings.
Larry was most well known for his job in the Town of Cicero. He took great pride in keeping the town maintained, from mowing ditches and fixing signs to plowing the roads. He really enjoyed visiting with all of the town residents, and made sure their concerns were heard.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Kettner; children: Abby (Clint) Mueller and Michael Kettner; grandchildren Cash Meisner, Rayleah Mueller, and Tana Mueller; siblings Betty (Gary) Krull and Donald (Jane) Kettner; sister-in-law Amy (Bud) Kettner and brother-in-law, David (Carol) Plach. Larry is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and the hunting dog who tried his patience the most, Duke.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Darlene Kettner and Sharon (Lowell) Blake; and brother Lee Kettner.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday September 23rd from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Larry will be laid to rest privately at a later date. Larry's family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Black Creek Rescue, and Nichols Rural Fire Department for their care and compassion for Larry and his family.
