Kenneth George Spaulding, age 86, of Seymour, WI and formally of Greenville passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at home. Ken was born February 8, 1939 in the town of Bovina, Outagamie County to Glen and Bernice (Nitzchke) Spaulding.
He graduated from Hortonville High School, was a confirmed member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville, and became a member of the National Guard.
Ken was united in marriage to Marcia "Bubbles" Thorpe on July 21, 1963. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Rhonda Jo and Renee Denise.
When building the house on the hill in the 1970's, Ken did as much building himself as he could and gathered stones throughout the countryside for the large fireplace.
Ken worked construction his entire lifetime until retiring from Azco Hennis in 2001 and was a member of union local 330 for 55 years.
He loved to hunt deer on his brother-in-law Gary's farm in Clintonville and fish off his land on the Wolf River, polka dancing, playing sheepshead, and having a cold Hamm's beer. Ken enjoyed his time at the land and made wood there.
As a star football player, Ken's high school team won the championship having won every game they played that season. He also loved the Green Bay Packers, and attended numerous sporting events for his children and grandchildren.
In his later years he enjoyed the visits to Vicki's house and was especially fond of her two dogs, Sam and Savanah.
Ken is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughter, Rhonda (Steve) Ashman; son-in-law, Mark Schubart; grandchildren: Kai (Jen) Schubart, Raissa (friend, Jared) Ashman, Kenny Schubart, and Raquel (fiance, Sam) Schubart; two great-grandchildren: Kolton and Addison Schubart; brothers: Gordon and Robert (Lynn) Spaulding; in-laws: Gary (Donna) Thorpe, Cynthia (Dennis) Thorpe-Kavanaugh, Vicki Wincentsen, and Jim Thorpe. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death his parents; daughter, Renee Schubart; grandsons: Rhett and Rillian Ashman; in-laws: Denny, Doug, and Ron Thorpe, Donna Spaulding, and Curly Wincentsen; nephew, Aaron Thorpe.
Visitation for Ken will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.
