Kenneth Hill

November 11, 1952 — February 13, 2022

With a broken heart, I share the news of the loss of my amazing husband, after a nearly four and a half year valiant effort to beat Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer...

Kenneth F. Hill, age 69, lifelong resident of Isaar, Wisconsin, passed away on February 13, 2022. He was born on Veteran's Day, 1952, to the late Fred "Fritz" Jr. and Helen (Wagner) Hill. He attended Isaar School until 8th grade and graduated from Seymour High School in 1970. After short stints at UW Stevens Point and Packerland Packing, Ken began a 42+ year career at Appleton Papers, retiring in 2014. In the summer of 1981, he offered Sandy Vande Corput a ride to "just another ballgame" and the two became inseparable. Ken took great pride in the "eastern Isaar" homestead they built in 1984, in what started as a cornfield. They married on July 25,1987 in the chapel at Heritage Hill State Park, celebrating almost 35 years of marriage.

Ken loved music! He had albums, 8-tracks, cassettes and ipods. He attended many concerts and live performances throughout the years. He was a big fan of Summerfest and Mile of Music. He liked it loud - cranking up the finals of "American Idol" and "The Voice" occasionally to the point of blowing a speaker! Ken always had to have music playing - even if it could not be heard over the chainsaw or mower he was running. He raised beef cattle for several years, enjoyed windshield time with his brother, would never turn down the opportunity to sit around a campfire or be near the water and putting around the neighborhood on his 1982 Honda 750 motorcycle on a hot summer day. He enjoyed anything sports....from his early years playing Little League, Babe Ruth and Legion baseball to playing competitive slow pitch for Hill's Bar, Johnson's Dairy, Bootleggers and Carol & Dave's, among others. He was a lifelong Packers fan - attending the Ice Bowl at the age of 15. He closely followed the Milwaukee Brewers and enjoyed watching Wisconsin Badger football and basketball on television. Whenever possible he would be in the bleachers at Seymour High School wrestling matches, baseball or basketball games. His retirement afforded him more time to watch and encourage upcoming youth athletes. Above all, Ken loved having FUN with his wife, family and friends of all ages.

Ken is survived by his loving wife Sandy; brother and best friend, Glenn (Sherry) Hill; nephews: Aaron (Ann), Adam (Jackie) and Alex (Kelly) Hill and their children Eliza, Dominick and Porter Hill; Jaelyn and Easton Hill; and Dylan and Harper Hill; brothers-in-law: Bruce Vande Corput (friend Amy) and Chuck Vande Corput; sister-in-law, Gina (Doug) Moser; nieces: Mckenna Gipp (friend Luke) and Kendal (Alex) Alberth and their daughters: Annabelle and Adelynn; nephews: Tanner (fiancé Kimberly), Devin and Isaac Moser; Godmother, Rose Hill; Aunts: Dorothy Dimmer and Shirley (Gene) Kropp, and numerous cousins. Also mourning his passing are many, MANY friends who he considered extended family.

Welcoming him into Heaven are his parents; in-laws: Herb and Dorothy Vande Corput; Godfather, Alois "Ollie" Leisgang; stepdad, Jerry Johnson; and other relatives. He is also reunited with several very close friends who preceded him in death and he greatly missed.
