Kathleen P Johnson

Kathleen Paula Johnson, lovingly known as Kathy, was born on March 29th, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN to Rev. Elmer and Helen Hill. She was the youngest daughter of five children and was born alongside her twin brother, making them the youngest members of the family. Kathy was united in marriage to her beloved husband Rev. Lonnie Johnson on September 10th, 1960. While Rev. Johnson pastored at numerous churches between North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, Kathy could be seen playing the organ and piano for worship or teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed watching game shows, playing card games, going shopping, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

God called Kathy to her heavenly home on September 24th, 2026 surrounded by her family. "If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to God" - Romans 14:8

She is survived by her children, Darla Simon, Renee (Paul) Collette, Kevin Johnson, Karin Shorey (Scott Kudransky), and Sharon (Dennis) King. Thirteen grandchildren, Derrick Johnson, Chris (Katie) Simon, Kacee Shorey (Joellene Witherington), Nicole Simon, Jazmine King (Jacob Parker), Kyle Collette, Rachel (Tanner) Danz, Kaleb Shorey, Lexus King, Kayla Collette, Kamron Shorey (Laura Leon), Tia King, and Ashlyn Kudransky (Greg Merrill). Nine great-grandkids, with one on the way, which are the pride and joy of her life, Ariella Hill, Leilonnie Parker, Elijah Shorey, Jacob Shorey, Elayna Rodriguez, Samuel Leon, Landon Witherington, Jack Merrill, Sonny Merrill, and a great-granddaughter due in November.

Kathy is also survived by her sister Beverly Anderson and in-laws Jeanette Hill, Joan (Dan) McGraw, Bonnie Volesch, Linda Halling, Judy (Myron) Moen, Donnie Johnson, Berdine Johnson, Shirley Johnson, and Jerry Gano, and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 65 years, Rev. Lonnie Johnson, her parents Rev. Elmer and Helen Hill, sisters Dorthy (Dr. Del) Tarr, Gwendolyn (Paul) Freiert, brother Kenneth Hill, son-in-law Camon Simon, and infant great-granddaughter Kylie Grace Shorey . She was also preceded in death by in-laws Jerry Anderson, Lester and Gladys Johnson, Arden Johnson, Dwayne Johnson, LaDonna Johnson Gano, LaVonne Johnson Erickson, Glenda Kay Johnson, Arlie Erickson, Deb Johnson, and Delwin Volesch.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Bellin ICU team for their compassionate care they provided Kathy during her final weeks. They would also like to thank Pastor David Rinck for his faithful visits, prayers, and support during that time.

Kathy's unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and kind spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Visitation for Kathy will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Seymour Assembly of God Church, Seymour from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor David Rinck. The Oneida Hymn Singers will hold a song service at 11:30 am. Burial will take place at Oneida Assembly of God Cemetery in Oneida.
