ROWE, KAREN R.

Karen R. Rowe, age 64, of Black Creek passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on November 14, 1943 to Delbert and Concordia (Murray) Van Patten in the Township of Bovina.

She loved cooking special dishes, her flowers, feeding birds, babysitting for, playing with and reading to her great-nieces: Jocelyn, Jordyn and Rylene. She made sure they had plenty of books and she enjoyed watching them grow. She was employed at Guardian Insurance for 21 years. She was always organized, and was a good manager. Karen loved to share stories of travels and was interested in anything to do with history or antiques.

Karen is survived by her mother, Concordia "Connie" Van Patten, Black Creek; her sister, Sally (Rick Sr.) Houterman, Black Creek; her brother, Douglas J. (Marilyn) Van Patten, Homer, AK; her nephews: Richard Jr. (Terri) Houterman, Shiocton; Ryan (Jillene) Houterman, Greenville; great-nieces: Jocelyn and Jordyn Houterman, Shiocton; Rylene Houterman, Greenville; step-great-nephews: Tyler and Tanner; her cousin, "Big Sister" Leone (Ray) Taubel, Greenville, and many more cousins. She is further survived by her best friends, Bonnie and Charlie Bach; many co-workers at Guardian Insurance, friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Van Patten, paternal grandparents, Cornelius (Anna) Van Patten, and maternal grandparents, Charles (Anna) Murray.
