Judith Grode

October 1, 1942 — January 1, 2023

Judith "Judy" Ann (Stingle) Grode, 80, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023 due to complications from a recent fall that caused an intracranial hemorrhage. Judy was born on October 1, 1942, adopted daughter of the late George and Loretta Stingle. When George passed away, Loretta married Art Schwister, who became her adopted father. Judy married Roger Grode, who preceded her in death. They were married on August 19, 1961. Together they raised four children.

Judy graduated from Seymour Community High School in 1960. She enjoyed working side by side with Roger their entire married life. Judy enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and crocheting. She enjoyed creating afghans and gifting them to those who were close to her.

This past year has been very difficult for Judy since the passing of Roger, but she enjoyed meeting new people and learning new card games. She participated in Bingo and found a love for doing puzzles with her neighbor ladies.

She is survived by her children: Connie (Bob) Rankin, Sturgeon Bay; Diane (Brian) Nackers, Neenah; Tim (Leonia) Grode, Clarksville TN; and Brenda (Stephen) Manley, Toledo, OH; grandchildren: Connie (Bernie) Kuske, Patti (Craig) Sigl, Dan (Ashley) Rankin, Katie (Craig) Burri, Ben (Sarah) Nackers, Tyler (Katie) Nackers, Heather (Jarrett) Watson, Chris Stout, Zachary, Mackenzie, Emily and Jordan Kellner, Noah Manley; great-grandchildren: Carley (fiance Dalton) and Bryce Kuske, Jonathan and Eddie Sigl, Alex and Emma Rankin, Adalyn, Olivia and Hazel Burri, Valerie Nackers, Emma, Eli, and Aaron Watson, Wyatt Kunst and Maeve Stuart.

She is further survived by brother-in-law, Ray Nussbaum and sister-in-law, Lois Grode and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by Roger, her infant son, David; parents: George Stingle, and Art and Loretta Schwister, brother: Larry Stingle; numerous aunts and uncles, father and mother-in-law: Willard and Aurelia (Schmaltz) Grode; brothers-in-law: Floyd (Norma) Grode, Myron and Rene Grode; sister-in-law, Audrey (Grode) Nussbaum; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Thank you to special friend Bonnie Krupka, who was always willing to take mom shopping or to appointments when needed. Her friendship meant so much to mom. Thank you Pat and Sue for the phone calls and visits. Mom enjoyed them very much. Also, a special thank you to all of her old and new friends that supported mom during this past year. Elaine, Millicent, Wanda and Barb, your kindness and acceptance of Judy to your social group was wonderful to watch. Thank you for taking her shopping and getting her involved with your activities.

Per Judy's wishes, no formal services will be held. Internment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Black Creek, WI. A memorial is established for masses to be said in her honor. Please mail condolences to Diane Nackers, 8042 Saquaro Ct, Neenah WI 54956.

Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting Judy's family with arrangements.
