Joseph Michael Schmidt

Joseph "Smitty" Schmidt, age 65, of Black Creek passed away suddenly due to a car accident Tuesday, October 27th, 2026, along with his girlfriend, Jane Schumacher. Born on December 14, 1960, Joe was one of 13 children of the late Harold and Minnie Schmidt.

Joe was a loving and helpful person, and was always there for his siblings and their families. Joe loved to garden, raised chickens, and rummage sales with Jane. In his spare time, Joe fixed cars and "putzed around" with other things on his property.

Joe is survived by his children: Taralee Williams and Corey Geiger, siblings Patricia Schmidt-Neenah, Arlene Neumann- Appleton, Judy (Glen) Nelson- Shiocton, Tom (Debbie) Schmidt- Black Creek, John (Chris)- Bonduel, Randy (Kathy)- Black Creek, Peter (Karen)- Nichols, Steve (Lauri)- Seymour, and Jerry (Karen)- Appleton. Joe is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Richard, Daniel, and Butch.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 14th from 12 Noon to 3:00 PM at the Black Creek Town Hall, N6051 12 Corners Road. Joe will be laid to rest privately at a later date. Please come join Joe's family for a time of fellowship and remembrance.
