Jonathan Taubel

Jonathan “Jon” D. Taubel, 45, of Seymour passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019. He was born November 3, 1973, son of David and Dorothy (Stilen) Taubel.

He was united in marriage to Rebecca Roskom on April 29, 2000, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.

Jon owned and operated Jon Taubel Construction for 20 plus years, having made many good business and personal friendships over the years.

He enjoyed the time spent outside by the pool, watching his daughter's extracurricular activities at school, snowmobiling, traveling, hunting with his daughters, and all of the special memories he created with his family. Jon was a hard-working, selfless person that would always be there for others. Jon will forever be known as a kid-at-heart.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; daughters: Cecillia Clausen, Makenna and Alainna Taubel; parents: David and Dorothy Taubel; siblings: Brian (Beth), Carrie (Dave) Jansen, and Jason (Jennifer) Taubel; father-in-law, Peter (fiancée Cheryl) Roskom; step mother-in-law, Jill Roskom; mother-in-law, Veronica Roskom; brothers-in-law: Jeremy (Kaylee) Roskom and Chris (special friend Jenna, and nehpew Callen) Roskom; grandparents-in-law: Roger Roskom, and Donald (Lorraine) Shemoncofsky. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his dogs, Milo and Maggie; and Jon Taubel 'Struction's biggest fan, Aela.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Martha and Gordon Stilen; paternal grandparents, Joe and Josephine Taubel; grandmother-in-law, Sandy Roskom.

Visitation for Jon will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, January 21, 2019, from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jon's memory for his daughter's education.
