John Tucholski

December 17, 1939 — February 24, 2023

February 24, 2023, marked the end of a journey for John Joseph Tucholski Jr, before he set forth on his next heavenly pathway. His passing marks the last of the Tucholski family line. Being the youngest of five children of John and Agnes (Brusky) Tucholski he became the family historian with a wealth of knowledge to share with his family and friends. John often shared stories and pictures of the days gone by and always helped figure out the people that we didn't know from many of those long-ago pictures.
"I did it my way" from the song lyrics by Frank Sinatra is a good way to say who John was in this lifetime.
He was born, lived and died on the family farm from 1939 to 2023, but the farm was in his family for over 125 years since his grandfather came over from Poland. John attended Elm Lawn Grade School and graduated from Seymour High School. He worked at Boerst Cheese Factory, Brzezinski Feed Mill, and Appleton Mills over the years. He loved fishing and often took his nieces and nephews and great nephews and friends on is boat or ice fishing. He was a hunter, enjoyed bowling and an avid reader. He was a political minded person and really loved discussing politics; always voted and was a faithful supporter of his parish at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hofa Park.
John was a person who was proud of his family heritage and spent a lot of time reading and researching generations. Not having any of his own children, he was happy to spend time with his nieces and nephews and their families and often had surprises in-store for them at Christmas. He enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers with his sister, Proxy, and brother, Myron. In his younger years, he made homemade root beer (sometimes we could hear the corks popping) and always made sure there was a 3-gallon container of Dean's Ice Cream in the freezer for a treat.
John is survived by his nieces and nephews: Patricia (Dave) Posbrig, Seymour; John (Eileen) Taylor, Pualski; Larry (Mary) Taylor, MI; Don (Bonnie) Taylor, Shawano; Cathy Taylor-Webb, AZ; Linda (Tom) Haase, Shawano; Jim (Tina) Taylor, CO; Jeff (Amy) Taylor, Green Bay; John Jurecki, Sobieski; Christine (Tom Dolata) Jurecki, Krakow; Connie (Gerard) LaBrosse, Sobieski; Mike Jurecki, Krakow; Quin Jurecki, Krakow; Brian (Sharon) Jurecki, Gillett; Terry (Lynn) Jurecki, Krakow; Kathy (Keith) Werner, Green Bay; Rona Ebert, TX; Roan Ebert, TX; Roni (Heidi) Ebert, TX, and many great nieces/nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Tucholski; his siblings: Proxida (E.V.) Taylor, Naomi (Robert) Ebert, Ann (Tony) Jurecki, and Myron Tucholski; one nephew, Dave Taylor; and many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will take place at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hofa Park, on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., Fr. Jim Esser, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home is assisting the family.
"Regrets, I've had a few, but than again too few to mention, I did what I had to do, I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way."
