John Samson

John A. Samson, age 90, of Shiocton passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Appleton. He was born on May 4, 1932 son of the late Alonzo and Elizabeth (Latza) Samson.

He was united in marriage to Rose Kruse on June 23, 1951 having celebrated over 70 years of marriage.

John enjoyed his work as a truck driver retiring in 1991. He enjoyed farming pigs, sheep, and beef. John also liked the time he spent riding his motor scooter taking rides around the area at night. Riding on his John Deere tractor around the farm was one of his favorite things to do. He was a man that loved being outdoors working on various projects and fixing things. John survived a stroke in July, 2008 that no longer allowed him to enjoy his time outside.

Survivors include wife, Rose Samson; children: Linda (Don) Stefanic, Randy (Bonny) Samson, and Connie Hooyman; grandchildren: Jennifer (Eric) Beck and Angela (Chris) Prochniewski, Steven (Aubrey) Samson, Eric (Nikki) Samson, and Cory (fiance, Samantha Miles) Samson, and Tony (Sarah) Hooyman, Rachel (Mike) Krueger, and Austin (fiancé, Elisa Cabrera) Hooyman; 18 great-grandchildren: Brody, Reed, Olivia, Carter, Leo, Blake, Dane, Gus, Collin, Carson, Chloe, Abigail, Charlotte, Audrina, Ethan, Lillian, Gavin, Kaylee, Mackenzie, and one on the way. He is further survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Kenneth Samson; son-in-law, Paul Hooyman; great-grandson, Colton Krueger; two brothers; and members of the Kruse family.

Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bovina Cemetery.
