Jerome "Jerry" B. Banker, 79, of Black Creek, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday evening, June 17, 2026. He was born June 7, 1947, to Ben and Helen (Burton) Banker.
On October 21st, 2006, he was united in marriage to Traci Beyer. The couple was just shy of their 20th wedding anniversary.
Jerry retired from being a steamfitter out of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 400. He loved to fish, hunt, garden, be with family, play cards, polka, Mondays at Sportsman's, go to church and spend as much time as possible with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a chaperon at the State Fair for over 20 years. He lived life to the fullest and never to his age.
Survivors include his wife: Traci Banker and beloved dog Gage, children; Michelle (Craig) Spindler, Nikki Van De Hey (Scott Thomas), Jesse (Brittany) Beyer grandchildren; Ashley (Taylor) Pahl, Abby Spindler (Cole Groll), Austin Spindler (Rachel Cops), Chase and Kennedy Van De Hey, Elyanna Mastey great grandchildren; Brooks and Miley Pahl, Lilly Spindler. Siblings; Kathy Kuettel, Marie Wockenfus, Nancy Kuettel (Herb), Elizabeth (Jim) Hackel, Jack (Judy) Banker, Rose (Doug) Dudek, Larry Banker, Tom (Jean) Banker, Mike (Marge) Banker, Rick (Deb) Banker, Steve (Teresa) Banker, Mark (Tamara) Banker, along with his many godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his son Cory, parents Ben and Helen Banker, siblings Judy and Lee, many brothers and sisters-in-law, and dog Eli.
Thank you to everyone that came Tuesday evening to celebrate his last and final rally, he cheered the night away accompanied with lots of laughter and conversations. Thank you to Bristol Hospice for taking care of him along with Good Shepherd Services.
Visitation for Jerry will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino, from 9:00 AM until the funeral mass at 11:00 AM with Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
When my time in this world comes to an end, gather my friends who knew me best, play some great music, mix glitter in with my ashes and let the wind take me to all the places I never got a chance to see, but mostly importantly, remember me by living the rest of your life smiling.
