James Rentmeester

January 16, 1942 — February 15, 2022

James Norbert Rentmeester Sr., 80, of Lakewood, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. He was born on January 16, 1942 to the late Norbert and Evelyn (Goffard) Rentmeester. Jim graduated from Premontre High School and was also in ROTC and the Army Reserves. He retired 20 years ago after a long career at Van Boxtel Ford.

He loved stock car racing, hunting, fishing, the Packers, and wood carving with his Lakewood/Townsend carving buddies. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially the campfires and tractor rides with the grandkids.

Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, Shirley (Mooren) Rentmeester; six children: Diane (Jerry) Collier, Jim Rentmeester Jr., Roxanne (Larry) Blochowiak, Gary (Terese) Rentmeester, Suzanne (Brian) Frank, and Julianne (Steve) Whisman; 11 grandchildren: Katie, Aaron, Christine (Aaron), Kayla, Erica (Austin), Holly, Paige, Morgan, Dawson, Mackenzie, and Ryan; and 2 great grandchildren: Brantley and Dexter. Jim is further survived by his sister, Jo (Pat) Schuessler; brothers: Melvin (Kathy) Rentmeester and Tom Rentmeester, one sister-in-law Connie (Garld) Sandlin, in-laws: Elaine (Ron) Green, Pat Ambrosius, Sylvester "Jupe" (Judy) Mooren, Ella (Dave) Stettler, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dick Rentmeester; and his sister, Karen Mikulsky.

Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Monday, February 21, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m., Deacon Bill Doran officiating. Burial will take place in spring at Mount Calvary Cemetery in De Pere.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Aurora BayCare Medical Center for their care and concern.
