Harriet Eick, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Country Villa in Pulaski. She was born on November 3, 1941 daughter of the late Edna Langworthy Almos.
Harriet was united in marriage to Gerald Eick on November 8, 1958. Jerry preceded her in death on November 27, 2017.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. In her early years she worked at Seymour Canning Company and the Hittner Clinic. Harriet and Jerry owned and operated Seymour Roofing and Siding. The couple were also past owners of the Seymour VFW and Eick's in Isaar. Harriet started the tradition of "Christmas in Issar". She was also passionate about her Mary Kay sales and had earned many of the incentive trips.
Harriet was known for making her famous chicken noodle soup that was delivered to anyone needing a meal. She took pride in her lawn and gardens spending many hours every year keeping everything well manicured.
As a sports fan she faithfully attended countless baseball and basketball games. She was a big part of the beginning of the Seymour Baseball Association. During the games she would keep score and keep track of statistics. Harriet was a very proud wife, mom, and grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Wylie (Ron) Leisgang, Wendy Eick (Jeff Roberts), and Jeff (Jennifer) Eick; grandchildren: Eric (Stacey) Leisgang, Justin (Tiffany) Leisgang, Quinn Leisgang, Darcie (Brian) Wichman, Jedidiah Doepker, Erin (Kyle) Heiden, Emily (Brad) Steward, Makayla (Ben) La Marche and Brady Eick; great-grandchildren: Colin, Lucas, Kendal, Camryn, Avery, Adelynn, and Jace Leisgang, Salem Boyd, Ashlyn, Mayson, and Amelia Wichman, Vayda and Hoyt Doepker, Trace and Sloane Heiden, Bennett, Elliet, and Paisley Steward, Rose, Colt and Lainey La Marche.
She is further survived by sisters and brothers: Janice (Bob) Eick, Susan Patz, and Jerry (Judy) Almos; sister-in-law, Sally Kools-Gavlak; many special nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Patz;and infant brother-in-law, Ronald.
Visitation will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 2:00 pm until the funeral service at 4:00 pm with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Internment will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
