Gene Krahn

September 22, 1937 — December 19, 2008

Gene "Geno" A. Krahn, age 71, of Eagle River and formerly of Seymour, passed away Friday, December 19, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 22, 1937 to the late Alfred and Bernice (Burmeister) Krahn in Seymour.

Geno graduated from Seymour High School in 1955. He was an excellent baseball pitcher for the High School and City/County League teams.

For 36 years he owned and operated

For 36 years he owned and operated Geno's Family Bar in Seymour, now owned by his son and known as Dean and Mary's.

On May 17, 2002 he married Sharon Duerschmidt at his home in Eagle River and they had six plus happy years together.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed traveling to Florida and Las Vegas, and also loved his animal friends up north.

Geno is survived by his wife Sharon; 3sons: Dale (Brenda), Green Bay, Don (Cindy) and Dean (Mary) Krahn all of Seymour; 3 step-sons: Brian (Lorena), Dale (special friend Vicki), and Erik (special friend Shannon) Duerschmidt all of Two Rivers; 3 step-daughters: Gail (David) Powers, Milwaukee, Lynn (special friend Jim) Baruth, Two Rivers, Paula (Jesse) Justinger, Appleton; 4 grandchildren: Jason (Kristen), Jeremy, Nicole, and Michelle Krahn; 14 step grandchildren: Andrew, Nate, Tanya, Lacey, Brian Jr., Peter, Ashley, Brandon, Skye, Wynter, Laken , Samantha, Abby, Charlie; a sister Jolene (Gene) Strzelecki, Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by a father-in-law Richard Plansky, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is further survived by his favorite mother-in-law Elsie Plansky; former brother-in-law Roger (Elaine) Wauters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and best buddy Boomer the cat, who will really miss him, special friends Don (Ann) Abel, and Butch (Betty) Blohm

Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 from 10 AM until time of services at 1 PM at the funeral home. To leave condolences for the Krahn family, please visit www.muehlboettcher.com
