Gary Krull

December 13, 1939 — January 18, 2026

Gary R. Krull, 86, passed away on January 18, 2026, at his home in Nichols. He was born on December 14, 1939, to the son of the late Russel and Eileen (Diemel) Krull.

After graduating from Seymour High School, he served in the United States Army for three years.

On July 25, 1964, he was united in marriage to Betty Kettner, from Black Creek, having celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Gary worked the majority of his working years for Tri-County Distributors as a delivery man and then as a salesman. He was committed to keeping Budweiser in business, by any means necessary even if it required throwing a few more back. Outside of work, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and card player. Gary, however, will mostly be remembered for his story telling and jokes. He was quick with a laugh and happy to share a tale with family and friends.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, he loved baseball, especially the Nichols Nitros' baseball team. Gary started playing for the Nitros in 1956, he later managed the team and continued to watch all his sons and grandsons play. He was a very devoted fan throughout his life. He rarely missed a Brewer or Packer game and would often arrange his day around their schedule.

Gary passed on his love of hunting and fishing to his sons and later to his grandchildren. Many hours were spent in 'the shed' sharing his stories of his past hunts, exaggerated or not, he always had a captivated audience.

Gary is survived by his wife, Betty, and his three sons: Dennis Krull, David (Tammy) Krull, and Jerry (Kathy) Krull.

He has 10 grandchildren: AJ (Megan) Griesbach, Zac (Lindsey) Griesbach, Ryan Krull, Juan Garcia, Santos (Tyler) Johnson, Stacey (Joshua) Helser, Kali (Wes) Baker, Riley (Cassandra) Krull, Derek (Caitlen) Krull, Justin (Kailey) Krull; and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by members of the Kettner family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Randy; and members of the Kettner's family.
