Francis Harold Nitzske

Francis "Fran" Harold Nitzske, 84, passed peacefully on April 7th, 2026.

He was born on February 9, 1942 in New London, WI to the late Herbert and Helen Nitzske.

Francis's interests were snowmobiling, hunting, golfing, and spending time with his great-grandson, Jacob Mertens.

He retired from Northeast Asphalt and Don Haws Construction where he had made many friends.

On January 13, 1962 Francis married Ioline Davis. Together they celebrated 64 years.

They were blessed with two children, Kevin and Tammy.

Francis was preceded in death by his son Kevin, his parents, Ioline's parents Sam and Toots Hammond; five brothers-in-law: William, Robert, and Richard Davis, Donald Curtiss, and Wayne Moeller. He was also preceded in death by his godchild, Jay Curtiss.

Francis is survived by his wife Ioline, his daughter Tammy, three grandkids: Joshua (Nicole) Mertens, Jodi (Thom) Willecke, and Jenifer (Jeff) Behling, and five great-grandchildren: Olivia, Myka, Jemma, Kevin, and Jacob. He is further survived by two sisters, Dorothy Curtiss and Joy Moeller; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services for Fran will be held on Monday April 13th at 7:00 PM at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the time of services. Fran will be laid to rest privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Fran's name.
