Frances E. Davis, age 89, of Seymour (formerly of Readfield and New London) passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2007. She was born March 29, 1918 in the Town of Rutland, Illinois to the late Benjamin and Anna (Golisch) Van Vleet. Frances graduated from Elgin High School on June 5, 1936. She married George Davis on July 11, 1941. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1981.
Frances worked as a proofreader at J.C. Cook Publishing in Elgin, IL
She enjoyed geneology, sewing, playing board and card games and was a member of the D.A.V. Auxillary.
Survivors include a sister Lois Exner, Arizona; 2 sister-in-laws: Cleo Van Vleet, Hampshire, IL, and Frances Vollman of Woodstock, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, 2 brothers: Lloyd and Robert Van Vleet; and a sister Loretta Quandt.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007, 10:00 A.M. at the Harmony Cemetery in Harmony, Il. Reverend Marie Carlson will officiate.
