Ewald A. Dettman passed away at his home on January 1, 2008. He was born June 8, 1925 in the Township of Lessor, son of the late Albert and Cora (Fockel) Dettman. On January 22, 1949 he was united in marriage to Betty Hackl.

Ewald was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Township of Cicero. He farmed for 24 years and was employed at Leicht Transfer and Storage for 26 years until his retirement. Ewald enjoyed traveling especially New Zealand and Australia. He loved going on small trips in his car.

Survivors include: his wife, Betty; his children: Allen (Janice) Dettman, Suamico; Roy (Penny) Dettman, Angelica; Judy (Dan) Voight, Seymour; grandchildren: Becky (Dan) Beaudoin; Brad (Stephanie) Dettman; Jessica Dettman; Crystal (Brian) Kruncos; Waylon and Travis Cornell; Brittany Voight; Douglas (Nicole) Steiner; Shawn and Corey Steiner; great-grandchildren: Justin, Alex, Kailey, Hayley, Zachary, Andrew, Samantha and Lyssa. He is further survived by: his brothers-in-law: Robert Hackl Jr.; Richard (Lois) Hackl.

Ewald was preceded in death by: one brother, Gordon.

Friends may call at Cicero Immanuel Lutheran Church, N9580 County Road X, Black Creek, Saturday, January 5, 2008, from 9 AM until services at noon with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating.
