Earl George Woldt, loving husband and father. Passed away peacefully August 27, 2024 at Meadowbrook Nursing Facility at the age of 95.
Earl's story began on August 10, 1929 on a small farm in the Town of Ellington being the 9th of 10 children to Robert and Alma (Pingle) Woldt. A year later they moved the family to a larger farm on Ballard Road north of Appleton. Just up the hill on Ballard is where Earl went to grade school, he went to high school in Seymour, graduating in June of 1947. By the end of the year he enlisted in the Navy to see the world. He spent his entire military career in Washington DC.
After his 4 years of service he then purchased a farm near 5 Corners and eventually to a farm on Hwy 54 near Seymour where he raised a family with his children's mom Doris (Kimball) Woldt. As the kids got older he worked at a number of mills in the Fox Valley. After selling the farm he worked at The Paper Valley Hotel and Conference Center in Appleton in the maintenance department as a painter and doing wall paper for 10 years before retiring at the age of 70. During that time he married Dianne (Brugger) Buchmann on October 22, 1994. We enjoyed traveling several places with friends Jean and Maynard Maas, Alaska was probably the longest and most beautiful. We also traveled to see the splender of many of the National Parks out west. One of the last trips we took was to Washington DC where we met up with two of his Navy buddy's and toured the national monuments. Spending time with each of our families was most important to each of us. Earl is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, he loved the Lord and our church family.
Earl will be remembered (in his own quiet way) for his love for family and friends, he enjoyed the excitement of sports, the love of the game. He played 2 years of football in High School, softball with friends in the neighborhood, baseball out in DC. He's a longtime fan of the Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and Packers, and always a dish of ice cream after supper every night.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne of almost 30 years; 5 children Kathy in Appleton, Keith (Shari Liesch), Ken, Brian Woldt all around Seymour, and Judy (Woldt) Beck Menasha. One sister Dorothy (Woldt) Favorite of Phoenix, AZ. 8 grandchildren, Riley (Jenny)Woldt, Jessie Woldt, Berri (Lisa) West, Jacob Woldt, Kayla Woldt, Bryce (fiance' Allysa Moss)Woldt, Bryanna (friend, Nick) Woldt and Craig Beck. Great Grandchildren, Payton and Ryland Woldt, Gunnar (partner, Katharine Tippens) Roberge, Olivia Swenson, Sylas and Jasper West, Colton Schroeder, Mason (friend, Maya) Beck and Maxwell Beck; many nieces and nephews. Also Dianne's family: Dan and Karen Brugger and their families, Ken and Sue Langner and their families.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Woldt; his parents, 3 brothers: Harold (the late Florence), Orvin (the late Joyce), and Gilbert (the late Joyce) Woldt; 5 sisters: Viola (the late Robert "Chet") Denow, Regina (the late Art) Denow, Arlene (the late John) Agnew, Elaine (the late Emory "Bud") Plamann, and Ione (the late Harry) Choudoir.
