Earl Springstroh

Earl E. Springstroh, age 79, of Freedom passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 7, 1929 to the late Alfred and Berdine (Brown) Springstroh.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis Snell on September 25, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Appleton, they shared 60 wonderful years together.

Earl retired from SCA, formerly Wisconsin Tissue Mills, after 30 years of service. He worked eighteen years as the caretaker of Freedom Community Lutheran Cemetery and was a member of the Fox Valley Horse Driving Association. He was a small time farmer all his life and loved his horses and other animals. Earl was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church his entire life.

Survivors include his daughter Linda (John) Schuh, Navarino, and their family: John (Barb) Schuh, Joshua, Justin, Mackenzie, Tina (Jim) Moser, Allyssa, and Jacob; son Gary, Neenah, and his family: Chad, Michael, Kelly (Todd) Schroeder, Tayler, Parker, Shawn (Aaron) Schmidt, Bret, Randy and family, and Lindsey and family; daughter Jennie (Mike) Stoop, Appleton, and their family; Michelle (Jason) Zuleger, Matthew (Shayna Smith) Stoop, and Hunter; daughter Jeanne (Elias) Aad, Texas, and their family: Salim, Natalya, and Wassem Aad; son Thomas J. (Kaye), Kaukauna, and their family: Daneille, Regan Springstroh, Brynn, Melanie, Kyle; son Brad (Laura), Appleton, and their family: Ashley, Ethan Earl, Rachel, Heather Funk and family.

Earl is further survived by his sister Elsie (Merle) Simmons, Appleton; brother-in-law Norman Snell, Wild Rose; sisters-in-law: Jean (Carlton) Tiedt, Appleton, Doris Felzer, Appleton, Jan (Wayne) Seegers, Fremont, Sue (John) Hinchley, Neenah, Diane Bowers, Wrightstown; two special aunts: Ethel Brown, Seymour, and Phyllis Brown, Appleton. He is also survived by a special nephew Jimmy Snell as well as many more nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Hilda and Lester Snell; three sisters-in-law Lorraine Vanden Bloomer, Doris Snell, and Patsy (Terry) Howard; three brothers-in-law: Lester Snell, Stan Felzer, and Jerry Bowers.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, January 5, 2009 from 4 to 8 PM and again on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Freedom. Paster Tim Glende will be officiating with burial taking place in the Freedom Lutheran Community Cemetery.
