Earl W. Drephal, age 85, passed away February 3, 2008 in Seymour. He was born August 1, 1922 in the Township of Cicero, son of the late William and Ida (Kuehl) Drephal. On February 17, 1941 he was united in marriage to June Otto, she preceded him in death on December 5, 1999.

Earl retired from Seymour High School in 1987 after 25 years of employment. Prior to this he was employed as a Projectionist with Seymour Theater, worked for the Seymour Tile Plant, hauled lumber and gravel, was a meat Cutter for Seymour Locker and Liquor and was a Journeyman Painter.

Earl enjoyed singing with the Barber Shoppers and sang with a quartet named 3 Shorts and a Long. He liked fishing, hunting, camping and traveling with his wife, June. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Senior Choir; he was a Brotherhood member and participated in Bible Studies. He was active in painting and remodeling of the church building and served on the church council.

Survivors include his daughters: Jean (Robert) Lotter, Green Bay; Bonnie (Gale) Wandke, New London; Mary (Carl) Schaefer, Greenleaf; 8 grandchildren: Kathleen (Kevin) Van Pay; Dean (Jacque) Lotter; Sara (Scott) Radtke; Lisa (Fred) Anderson; Tammy (Dave) Wenzel; Angie Robinson; Matthew and Scott Robinson; Great-grandchildren: Rachel, Ryan, Zachary, Brook and Hannah.

Earl was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mildred Drephal and Mabel Heid.

Friends may call to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 9:00 A.M. until funeral services at 11 A.M. with Pastor Sara Yotter officiating.
