Dorothy Steward

Dorothy J Steward passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Nursing Home on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at the age of 94.

She was born August 18th, 1930, to Oscar and Esther (Hallam) Rudie. Dorothy was united in marriage on October 8th, 1949, to Howard Steward at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in the town of Lessor.

She was active in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Seymour Senior Citizens, the Seymour Community Museum and the American Legion Auxiliary. In her early years, Dorothy was also active in the Seymour Girl Scouts. She was a former Seymour citizen of the year.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn (Mike) Briske, grandchildren Kelly Briske (Hunter Werth) and Ryan (Irasema) Briske, and two great grandsons, Cameron and Mikah. Dorothy is further survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, one son, one infant daughter, two sisters, and one brother.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025 from 9am until services at 11am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 349 N Main St., Seymour, WI 54165 with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. The American Legion Auxillary service will take place at 10:45am.

Burial will take place at Our Saviors Cemetery in the town of Lessor.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Dorothy's name.
