Our beloved Deloris Emma (Dethardt) Heuer, 80, of Pulaski passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Rennes Health & Rehab Center in Appleton, WI.
She was born on July 24, 1946, to Earl and Marion J. (Dickson) Dethardt in Shawano, WI. For most of her young life, she lived on a farm in Nichols, WI. On February 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to David J. Heuer on the Heuer family farm in the Township of Lessor.
Deloris lived most of her life in Shawano and Outagamie Counties. She worked on the Heuer family farm with her husband and 4 children for 25 years. While still working on the family farm, she also worked full-time at Nichols Papermill. Afterwards she also worked as a seasonal worker at Seymour Canning Company and then retired in August 2023 from Don's Quality Market after 25 years working in the Bakery.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 25 years and was involved in the Ladies Aid and Mission Circle for 10 years.
She loved Jesus, her family and friends. She was a strong and dedicated wife, mother and friend. She had a huge loving heart of gold, a servant's heart to serve others, always willing to help someone in need and always had a listening ear. She enjoyed spending time with family & friends, polka dancing, outdoor gardening, farm pets, and her dog, Lady. One of her most memorable moments was in 2004, when she went to the Outagamie County Fair to see Bobby Vinton in concert and danced with him personally. Her favorite pastimes were making blankets for family and friends, vacations to Mackinac Island, Artex painting, word search books, coloring, puzzles, playing solitary on her computer/cell/tablet, and old school country music. She loved the smell of fresh lilacs blooming. She always made sure that our birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated. She renewed her faith in Jesus in August 2026. She will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.
Deloris is survived by her husband, David, of 62 years; her four children, Al (Tina) Heuer, Marion; Dan (Rachel) Heuer, Shawano; Val Kundert, Green Bay; and Steve (Dawn) Heuer, Iola; her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by: Earl and Marion Dethardt, father and mother; Jerome and Jan Dethardt, brother and sister-in-law; Artis Kropidlowski, sister; Karen Dethardt, sister; and Robert Dethardt, brother.
A very special thank you to our Lord and Savior, Jesus, for welcoming her home to be with Him. We couldn't have survived this without you, Jesus! A special thank you to the staff at Rennes Health & Rehab Center in Appleton for all their special attention (physical, occupational and speech therapy) and dedicated services to help keep mom comfortable, along with ThedaCare Hospice in her final days of life. We greatly appreciate you all. Thank you also to Pastor Patti, our relatives, church family, and friends for your outpouring love, support, visiting Mom, and prayers during this very hard time. We greatly appreciate you all.
A Celebratioin of LIfe will be held at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral, Seymour, on Wednesday September 16t at 6:00 PM. Memorial visitation at the funeral home from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. Deloris will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
Deloris loved her animals, so in lieu of flowers a donation to the local Shawano County Humane Society, in her honor would be greatly appreciated.
